Ruthy Pribar

Ruthy Pribar is an Israeli writer-director, exploring emotionally resonant narratives with a subtle directorial style. An honorary graduate of The Sam Spiegel Film School, her debut feature film ASIA premiered at Tribeca 2020 and garnered critical acclaim, earning multiple awards, including the Nora Ephron prize. The film went on to win nine Israeli Academy Awards and represented the country at the Oscars. Her second feature film, ‘What Is to Come’ premiered in competition at the Tribeca Film Festival.

2020 ASIA (Feature Film, debut) Developed by Cannes Film Festival residency program, ASIA premiered at Tribeca 2020 where it won three awards including the Nora Ephron prize. ASIA won 9 Israeli
academy awards, including best film thus being Israel’s official entry to the Oscars.

2018 THE CAREGIVER (Short Fiction) Participated in numerous International Film Festivals including: Palm Springs Shortfest, Aspen Shortfest, Tampere, Leeds, PÖFF shorts, and many more.

2012 LAST CALLS (Short Fiction) Chosen as one of the five best international student films of 2012 by CILECT. Participated in numerous International Film Festivals including Jerusalem, Montreal, Biarritz, Créteil, Beijing, Uppsala and many more.
