Orto Polare AS
Gørild Mauseth and Tommaso Mottola have established Orto Polare AS, the world’s northernmost production company of films and theater, in the North of Norway. The company’s main focus is co-production between Norway, Russia, and Italy.
In 2007 Orto Polare produced Bergljot a Peace project for the Grieg Jubileum in Haakons Hallen in collaboration with the norwegian military orchestra and an Italian Conductor, with Mauseth on stage.
Orto Polare was from 2007 to 2009 producer, founder and promoter of the project “Hurtigruten Film Festival”, set together with the Italian Ministry of Culture, the Italian Foreign Ministry, Regione Toscana, Hurtigruten AS, Norwegian Film Commission, Fiat Norway, and all main Norwegian Film festivals: Haugesund, Bergen (BIFF), Trondheim (Kosmorama), Tromso (TIFF), and Nordkapp Film Festival.
In the period 2009 to 2016 Orto Polare AS has curated International Relations and Programs for Capalbio International Film Festival, Nordkapp Filmfestival, and Vladivostok International Film Festival Pacific Meridian.
In different years Capalbio had many Cinema Masters as guests or jury: Michelangelo Antonioni, Oliviero Toscani, Peter Gabriel, Nicoletta Benigni, Abbas Kirostami, Andrey Konchalovsky, Roberto Perpignani, Michal Leszczylowski, Paul Federbush, Colin Trevorrow etc. Capalbio collaborated with Film Festivals in Nordkapp, Vladivostok, Brasilia, Calcutta and also VGIK film school in Moscow.
In 2015 Capalbio becomes the first european festival to host the prestigious Screenwriter Workshop by Sundance Institute, which gave to the festival courage to launch its own Future Storyteller Lab in June 2016, Orto Polare co-produced and sponsored the Lab.
Orto Polare also produces Theatre performances with children and seniors in Finnmark.
Orto Polare has also been in charge as Executive Producer of the arrangements an execution of the Russian version of Riksteatre’s production of the play Anna Karenina (Norway) by Gorky Drama Theatre in Vladivostok in the period 2012 / 2014. In June 2015 Festspillene i Harstad invited the play, Orto Polare co-produced the guest performance.
Karenina and I is the first documentary the company produces, with Gørild Mauseth as Responsible Producer and Tommaso Mottola as Executive Producer.
