KOKTEBEL Film Company

Koktebel Film Company was founded in 2003 by the independent producer Roman Borisevich to produce, promote and distribute Russian films. Since that time, it realized a number of successful film projects and proved itself a valuable and a reliable partner for both Russian and foreign companies. Presently, Koktebel Film Company is a leading Russian producer of auteur films and festival films and is one of the few Russian film companies to have established an international reputation.

Koktebel Film Company and the producer Roman Borisevich discovered such talented film directors as Boris Khlebnikov, Aleksey Popogrebski, Vasili Sigarev. They made their début films with us and they continue to cooperate with us.

They received many prizes (How I Ended This Summer by Aleksandr Popogrebsky obtained three Silver Bears at Berlin International Film Festival. Russian films did not receive one of the main prizes in Berlin for fifteen years!)

Working to create new films, Koktebel Film Company is attentive to make them interesting worldwide and sees Russian film industry as one of the world leaders.

Why the company is different: all the films have a high artistic merit, proven by prizes and awards of the leading Russian and international festivals, including three Silver Bears of the Berlin International Film Festival, ten prizes of the Open Kinotavr Festival, three prizes of the International Film Festival in Karlovy Vary, Silver George of the Moscow International Film Festival and a great number of other prizes from other festivals. The company is also recognized by the Guild of film critics, in Russia (films of the Koktebel Film Company were twice, in 2009 and 2007, recognized as the best in Russia by the Guild of Film Experts and Film Critics of Russia) and in foreign countries (at the 57th Cannes International Film Festival, the FIPRESCI International Federation of Film Critics called Road to Koktebel the discovery of the year and gave prizes to all the consecutive films produced by the company.
