
Darío Mascambroni
Darío Mascambroni (36) is an Italo-Argentine director, screenwriter, and producer, born in Córdoba, Argentina, to parents of Sicilian origin. In 2016, he made his directorial debut with Primero Enero, which was selected for the Berlinale (Generation Kplus section) and won the Best Argentine Film Award and the FEISAL Award at BAFICI 2016. Primero Enero was also nominated for the Grand Prix at the Fribourg International Film Festival in 2017. In 2018, he directed his second feature film, Mochila de Plomo, which was selected for the Berlinale (Generation Kplus section), São Paulo, Fribourg, and BAFICI, where it won the ACCA Award for Best Film. In 2019, Darío was among the directors selected for the Berlinale Talents program. Beyond the festival circuit, his films have been distributed on platforms such as MUBI, Movistar Plus, and Amazon Prime Video. Lo Deseado is his third feature film..
