
The screening schedule for “Star” (International Competition) and “Name Me” (1-2 Competition) at the 30th Warsaw Film Festival (10-19 October).
International Competition 15 films will compete in the International Competition at 30th Warsaw Film Festival for the main award – Warsaw Grand Prix, Best Director Award and Special Jury Award.
– STAR /Zvezda, dir. Anna Melikian (Russia 2014), 128 mins.
The film centres on a girl who dreams of being a famous star admired by everybody. She lacks talent so she’s planning to have plastic surgery to help her succeed. A tragicomedy about destiny and the vulnerability of our existence, a story about people whose lives are fancifully intertwined.

Olya is 17 and takes her best friend on a trip to meet her father for the very first time. The girls trade places. The innocent joke will soon turn into great drama and turn their lives upside down. The father is played by Konstantin Lavronenko, an actor known from Piotr Trzaskalski’s ‘The Master’ and films by Andrey Zvyagintsev.
