Mikhail Mestetskiy
Director, screenwriter, actor and composer.
He was born in 1980 in the city of Kalinin (Tver). In 2003, he graduated from the Faculty of Letters of Russian State University for Humanities. In 2006, he graduated from the Higher Courses of Screenwriters and Directors (workshop of Vladimir Naumov, Andrey Dobrovolsky and Evgeny Mit’ko).
He worked in the spheres of contemporary art, literature, film criticism. Published short stories in Eskvair and other platforms.
He authored more than ten short films that took prizes all over the world including the Grand Prix of the Shanghai Film Festival, Grand Prix of Kinotavr Festival etc.
In 2012, he organized the music group Shklovsky. The group gives many concerts, records albums and popular video clips.
In 2013, together with Nikolai Kulikov, he authored a screenplay for the film Legend Number 17. The film became a favourite of the cinemas and its screenwriters were awarded the Golden Eagle Prize.
Rag Union is a first feature-length film by Mestetsky.
